What is the highest skill level you have seen on a General? also how many field marshells have you had with a skill level over 5?

I got Field Marshel Von Hindenburg up to Skill:8 Experiance: 31 (this was after i had annexed America)

and the most Field Marshels Ive gotten with skills above 5 was, 21 (after annexation of America)

Very interesting numbers, but please tell me what on earth this has to do with the development of the mod?

Furthermore please tell me why it is so earth shatteringly important that it ABSOLUTELY MUST MUST MUST be in a new thread, when there exists a perfectly usable home for the comment in the thread entitled "General Discussion on 1.02"?

Please post in the correct threads, as TGW team does not take kindly to unnecessary creation of new ones.

To answer your pertinent question, skill 8, 2 marshals.

Thank you.

I've not managed to play it that much actually - but since you asked an interesting question, I ought to tell you that I managed to get General Monash to a skill 6 after plenty of attritional battles! :)

You guys are forum thugs. He just asked a damn question. Get a hobby, job, or something and get over your power trip.

....ahh - now I'm sure it's who I thought...

::wipes away tears:: I always wanted to be a petty thug. Care to share in your insight Allenby? Or is this a secret thing?

Do you mean in TGW specifically or HoI in general?

There's a random event that can kill a leader (chosen at random). There are a few events we've written for TGW that remove leaders from the game (either by death or forced retirement). As for whether they can be killed in battle, I don't think so. I had a land unit 100% wiped out while out of supply, and its commander still reappeared in my leader pool. On the other hand, there was a time (in standard HoI) when I'd lent an expeditionary force to a country, which then got conquered, and I didn't get the leader back. I think that's the only way to lose a leader in play.

HoI in general. i ask because didn't rommel die in action?
No no no.

From achtungpanzer.com
"On August 8th, Erwin Rommel was transported from the French Hospital to Herrlingen, where he was placed under house arrest. Erwin Rommel was given the choice of suicide, to be reported as death from his wounds, as an alternative to execution as a traitor, which would have placed his family and close associates in grave danger. On October 14, 1944, Rommel was taken to the hospital at Ulm, where he died by his own hand taking the poison."

Well, if you call killing yourself "death in action", yes, he did. He had been wounded by aircraft fire some time earlier, though.

EDIT : Curses, foiled! :)
