Hello everyone....I posed the question in a previous thread, "Has anyone made a "generic history" mod for HOI2/DD?

http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?p=5883052#post5883052

I wasn't expecting interest in developing a mod, however, it seems perhaps nothing like this has yet been done...don't get me wrong, because tremendous work has been done in modding this game, but I think what I was thinking, very simply put, is something like having AI somewhat similar to the Risk mod or the RandRoad mod but put in the HOI2/DD universe of January 1, 1936.....

So, one thing leads to another, and here I am soliciting interest and involvement in this project! If you are even remotely interested, please PM or email me at:

hoi2ddgenerichistorymod@hotmail.com

I'm happy to get this off the ground as I have very good organizational skills (probably from playing games like Pacific War, High Command,Civilization, and of course this game all of my life!) and can shepherd this to at least give it a good start.

What I'm thinking is that the vast majority of modding we would have to do is with the AI and Event files.....OK, let me know if you are interested.

I, or anyone else, could climb down into the bowels of the RandRoad code and do some of the work. The code is in C# and available to anyone at the web site. I'll go there if I have time.

What needs to be done as far as I can determine is to leave the borders and resources of the countries alone and randomize everything else. This shouldn't be a problem, but once in the sewers who knows what will stick to you.

When I have time, I will go back and try to create a test scenario or two without the random borders for countries.

I'm not sure that is possible simply atm with RandRoad. I think the provinces and borders were one of the first things I undid.

I'll keep RandRoad independent so that I have some control over support.
