Hi,

I have Polish version of EU. Maybe it is only our bug, but I dont think so.

PROBLEM

When you win a battle with enemy you may force them to run away or stay and die. I understand that sometimes armies may run away from the field but in that case they should leave their cannons! (so I can take them -usual thing in those times :)) Unfortunately in the game you can win, kill all infantry and cavalry but the gunners and their cannons (eg 20 guns) will run away to another province even though I have 20k cavalry. So I start to chase them with my troops. Of course I'm before them in the province to which they are going. When they came they shut kill couple of my soldiers and run away without any losses!!!!!!!. I chase them sometimes even for 1-2 years. They lose only couple guns, in the same time they manage to plunge my couple provinces!!!!

Do you have similar problems?

regards

Mariusz

This is something of a feature in the early part of the game. Cavalry pursuit does not seem to be implemented in the computer game and therefore the enemy cannons escape with little or no losses.

If you boost your castle levels I believe you'll soon find that the enemy armies are disbanded rather than retreat as they'll no longer have sufficient strength to enter your provinces.

This is a quote from Huzsics FAQ (highly recommended reading!):

Remember that the minimum force to enter a province only apply if there are NO armies from any side in the province!! This btw is the main reason for the very annoying "bouncing retreat" units that keep retreating from one province to the other. If an enemy unit breakes it's moral and is surrounded by only e.g. lvl 2 enemy controlled fortresses any force with less then 5000 men will be completly annihilated instead of retreating.

Ten cannon equal 1000 men. You can read more in the FAQ itself at http://members.nbci.com/_XMCM/huszics/eu/faq.html

Best regards

Hi Mariusz!

This problem is known as ping-pong. It's resolved in future patches. Unfortunately polish version of new patch will be available with some delay. I'm in touch with CODA (polish publisher) and NSG (polish translators of EU) and patch is on the way. For more info look at our polish forum on

http://users.nethit.pl/forum/forum/eu

About ping-pong you can read on my site (link in sig) in "Archiwum" section. Some posts on forum linked above are about ping-pong too.

regards.

You stole my thread-name, I already started a thread named "Ghost Armies" concerning armies that are not visible during unload and take very long to do this
