So there we were attacking our neighbour across the local hyperlane, doing a splendid job, sending battleships equipped with long range kinetic artillery we decimated the enemy forces and begun to siege to their capitol, my squad of gene warriors were en route.

Meanwhile we continued to build up the heartland, the Sanctuary system, containing a ring world it was considered the quasi capital of the Dominion. The local alien inhabitants of the Sanctuary were invaded and purged less than 10 years ago, the Qiran colony ships set down within days of the purges completion and claimed what would become the jewel of the Dominion. All was going well!

we were slow to obtain colony ship tech so we improvised and uplifted some pre-sentients called Dabulans, whilst simultaneously infiltrating a more advanced civilizations government so we could purge the natives and Relocate all the Dabulans to that planet instead. The Dabulans had a very poor size 12 tropical world but very good stats for the production of energy credits which is what was needed at the time, and a new world. As part of the uplifting process the Dabulans were altered to prefer an arctic climate and had their natural money sense increased by adding the thrifty trait. Even though the Dabulans are rightfully fearful of anything not Dabulan they recognized the Qirans as their benefactors and consider them as the figurative parents of their race.

Then a message arrives about some disturbance in space headed towards our galaxy soon to hit somewhere along the outer rim of the galaxy.....
lrvUIFu.png

The Disturbance arrives and contacts us, it could still be friendly...However Qiran diplomatic protocol requires we insult aliens on first contact so we will never know, Better safe than sorry!

The "Disturbance" arrives in the periphery systems of Sanctuary. Interestingly they also annex a fallen empires holy world, perhaps they will set the "Disturbance" Straight!
4GNpzzR.png

We send our battleships with a power of 11k to try and save Sanctuary however they are decimated by two 40k stacks of Disturbances, all efforts are made to save Sanctuary but in the end it falls. Not only was every last Qiran in Sanctuary erased from existance (Qiran protocol prohibits us from commenting on the irony of the situation) but Sanctuary itself was drained of its lifeblood and rendered uninhabitable. A devastating blow for the Dominion!
kWiqNOe.png

With Sanctuary lost the Disturbances moved forward to the real capitol, Qirus Prime and the first Qiran colony besides Sanctuary, New Qira. All resistance melted when faced with the "Disturbance" and both planets were lost.
As a last ditch effort to preserve the Qiran race and the Dominion of Qirus, Several Qirans Were relocated to New Dabula. Some of the Qirans broke protocol and took it upon themselves to genetically modify their preferred climate to match New Dabula, they were promptly executed as this change had given them pretensions of superiority over pure Qirans, a rift that could not be afforded at such a time.

As a result of purging the gene traitors and the Dabulans uncouth ways a temporary capitol was needed for the remaining Qirans. The only world available was the old Dabulan home world as they used to prefer a tropical climate like the Qirans.

We now find our selves surrounded by hostile xenophobes and "Disturbances" on all sides, we possess but one remaining battleship and only two planets, the damage done can never fully be repaired as Sanctuary has been decimated, things look grim and the recovery of the dominion will be a hard task, however we are out of the "Disturbances" reach for now and our income is respectable, our technology is also far ahead of our neighbours and provides us with a considerable edge in warfare, for now.

Its turned out to be an interesting game so far. Hopefully by the time the "Disturbance" conquers its way around the galaxy i will be strong enough from gorging on the surrounding enemies to oppose it but the Prethoryn scourge has somthing like 6 stacks of 80k troops its even curb stomping the fanatic fallen empire.
