Hey,

So, I've spent some time learning more about Skylines modding, and the various modding tools, I decided to model a building while I try to figure out why I was having certain lighting artifacts on my old police car model.

I've been struggling with Illumination maps for a while, I've read the tutorials and what the asset tutorial dictates, but I am still having issues, and I honestly do not know what is wrong.

I have included my _d, _i and _s in order to help figure out if I did something wrong on those maps.

During night and most of daytime the building reflects/illuminates properly, during sundown/Sun-up, it glows as if it were radioactive, could someone help me pinpoint what I did wrong?

Thank you guys!

Sorry, yeah, I've been following both your and another setam tutorial, his building worked with the grey, so I switched to that. It is possible I had an incorrect "number" of black on my _i map, I will re try it right away and figure it out.

If that is the fix, I will internet hug you, so be warned. :D

I literally spent 20 hours on this before I gave up and asked for help :p

I checked your pick again and I know where your problem is, your png has a color management profile included (means that in your editor it appears 20 dots clearer that it is actually). You might want to set your color management to neutral or all of your pics will be too dark when exported.

Oh, then here comes my next question, how do I do that?
I'm still very uneducated when it comes to channels, or colour management?

*will google in the mean time*

I checked and actually this is the standard color management photoshop uses, but your exported pic incorporates it. And in photoshop I see the option to incorporate the profile only when you export to jpeg, not for png. I think google will be your friend there (or someone who encountered the same problem).

Well... that sucks, well then I'll have to do some research into this, what version of photoshop do you use? I want to make sure I dont differ there.
If we have the same version all I can really do is google my way out of this issue

Yeah, so we have similar versions of Photoshop, I'll have to postpone checking up on it till im done with my midterms, but after that, I'll have a look into to.
So I just wanted it 20 dots less clear? :p

Not color managing should be easy.
In photoshop,
Go to Edit>Color settings
Under color management properties, turn them all to 'off'.
In addition to fixing your colors, be sure to include a lod of the i map or else it will be radioactive when you zoom out :)
