Basically all battleships/destroyer/cruiser skins etc are glowy sparkling. This doesnt extend to carriers/subs/transports. Any thoughts about why it is doing that and how to solve it?   This only happened after I installed Armageddon.

Mine does the exact same thing and I have never experienced this problem before with HOI, HOI2, or HOI DD. Armageddon has done the "glowing ships" phenomenon on Vista and XP as well so you can't blame it on Vista. Does the patch for the game fix this issue? Please respond...

Sounds like a problem with the palette files. Which patch version are you using?

Version 1.1(GKCW)
The version that comes in the HOI Anthology Pack.
It's not a graphics card problem..... I run a GeForce 8500GT on my desktop and a Intel Integrated Graphics Adapter on my laptop<--(Which IS a peice of crap.) And I'm running Vista on my laptop and XP Home Edition on my desktop. I tried replacing the graphics files on Armageddon with the Doomsday graphics files just out of curiosity but it had no effect. The ships still had the "glowing" effect. The person who originally posted about this problem stated that there was naval sprites that he/she had downloaded and that they fixed the problem. Where might these sprites be located?

Did you replace the palettes? It's not the graphic files that cause the problem, but the graphic palette files. Check the German DMP website (heartsofiron.eu, perhaps?)for new unit models, complete with new palettes.

Problem fixed. The palette files were the source of my woes. Thanks for the help guys.

Actually, if you have DD on your computer and you know how to do it, you can just replace the palette files on Armageddon with the ones in DD and tha will work. That's how I did it.
