Summary

Gold from destroying an artifact ignores durability

Description

When you destroy an artifact, the gold received from the interaction is only based on the artifact rarity, but not its durability. Thus, destroying a common artifact with 100% durability and with 1% durability yields the same amount of 40 gold.

I am not sure if it's a conscious design decision or a bug, but in any case I don't think it makes sense. Destroying a damaged artifact should yield less gold than destroying an undamaged one - perhaps not proportionally to the damage, but still less. The Auction Off Artifact mod that originally introduced this feature took durability into account when determining the price, and I think this is what most players would expect as well.

Steps to reproduce

Destroy an undamaged common artifact and get back 40 gold. Then try to destroy a (very) damaged one and get back 40 gold again. With Masterwork artifacts it's the same, but you get 80 gold instead in both cases.

Hello there! Thank you for reporting this. It is currently a mechanic that has been designed this way and is not a bug, however your suggestion has been entered into our database so that Developers can take a better look at it. Have a nice day!
