Goodbye Pope, Hello Patriarch?

it doesn't seem possible to create a patriarch along w/ the pope, but can i remove the pope and replace him w/ an orthodox patriarch in thrace for example? can he still act the same but instead of catholic, deal w/ orthodoxy? haven't found a whole lot of text on the pope, i'm hoping he's not hardcoded?

Yes and no

I believe the title itself isn't hardcoded but the effects on piety are - I think no matter what, the pope will only affect Catholics. I've been working on my War of the Roses mod and I've remade the Pope and Papal Controller as Lord Chancellor and Lord Chief Justice of England but there are still a truckload of things that need to be added or modded for him to affect other faiths (w/c I've not done yet and not for a while!)

so his title and province can be changed though? which folder or folders can i edit him at?

Rename Catholicism to Orthodoxy and Orthodoxy to Catholicism, go through every province and character and swap their religions. Rename the Pope Patriarch and there you have it. Not that I understand why anyone would like to do that though, the systems were completely different; the famous apples and oranges.

to be found in the TEXT file in the CONFIG folder IIRC but then after that you need to change all references to him as Pope everywhere you see him from the other text files to the event files. Not something to be taken lightly But quite easily done. The real trick is getting him to act properly towards the Orthodox and not the Catholics.
