All in all folks I'm VERY impressed with 106, don't get me wrong, but this last one almost took the wind out of my sails for a bit... Was playing a game with the US. Had difficulty set EASY with AI agressiveness to Normal. Figured I could use the time to learn some of the new nuances of the game.

On the plus side, the Greenland/Iceland event worked as I'd hoped this time for the US where they were allowed to occupy and deploy from Iceland. Then some strange stuff happened.

For some reason around the same time period (Fall 1940), support for the war effort among the allied and neutral countries simply collapsed. Totals fell to -100 for everyone involved including me. My CG requirement shot up to 955 of an available 1060. This with war continuing in europe.

Point is, I don't know what caused this drastic drop to occur, but it was with all countries that weren't in combat with the Axis or whoever was on the allies. My question is "WHA HAPPEN?!?" I for one have no clue.

The only other oddity at that stage in the game that I was able to note was that Italy had been DOW'd by Germany then subsequently joined the Axis.

I for one, though not directly involved in the war was effectively sidelined because even with only 2% dissent I couldn't get anything going because support for the war was non-existent with no signs of improving...

Any thoughts gents? I have no idea...

Was the Soviet Union at war with Germany?

If the Soviets are at war with Germany and are doing well, WE for democratic neutrals decreases.

BTW, negative WE affects CG requirements the same way that zero WE does.

They were. I suppose it's possible that the early war entry by the Soviets might be partly to blame for this anomaly to occur. Still, with a -100 or as you say ZERO WE, all my industry was put into CG and I didn't have enough to even maintain the supply needs for my military. Though I had time, my supply stockpile was beginning to dwindle.

As for how well the Russians were doing, it was pretty much a slog. There was only marginal change in front position. So as for them "doing well", I just didn't see it. The only other possibility if this line of reasoning is true that I can think of is that Romania and Yugoslavia were still neutral. Bulgaria and Hungary were on the Axis side and there was the little matter of the "war" between Germany and Italy. It was still shown on the political map along with them being "allies" at the same time.

Its possible that all these in concert caused the problem. I still suspect an event fired wrong though. I've had Russia and Germany at war before, but I've NEVER seen WE affected like this...

suffice to say the game will be restarted...

What was the situation with Italy? More details? This seems the only unusual thing in your game, so it could the cause.
