I purchased the game last week and have thoroughly enjoyed playing it. But I have now 20+ times experienced hard lockups. I am on an iMac Pro and Catalina. My graphics card is a Radeon Pro Vega 56. The game will randomly freeze (I cannot switch apps), and after ~2 minutes the OS will reboot. These error logs are generated:

This began a few days after I purchased the game. Any advice would be greatly appreciated,

I haven't seen other such reports, as yet anyway.

What CPU and GPU temperatures are you seeing before the game, then while playing?

I use Macs Fan Control to read temps, but there are many others.
 
That's getting up there ... it never gets to 80c or over?

Are you on 10.15.3 yet? If not maybe there's a newer video driver version in there.
 
As you can see from your error in you first post here, the GPU is hard-hanging. If that is not overheating or a video driver problem, that only really leaves a hardware fault.

But let's try some stuff first. Have you played with the graphics settings in the game? Windowed, borderless? Different resolutions?
 
I have tried all the graphics settings and have experienced the hard locks on all of them.

I did even try the game inside a Windows VM and it still locked everything up.

This is the only situation where I've ever seen this over hundreds and hundreds of hours spent in games (Factorio, Airport CEO, etc) and video editing so I really do not think it's a hardware defect.
 
Well, as I say, hard hangs are pretty much always drivers or hardware.

Look in your Windows Event Viewer in te time leading up to one of these hangs. Are there any events in there that give a clue as to the general area of the problem? I wouldn't mind betting it is in the video/graphics area, but some confirmation of that would be nice.
