Grabbing Colonial Claims Buildings

I am at war with the Brits. I have troops in several provinces where they have colonial claims buildings. But nothing's happening.

According to the wiki having the troops stationed in the province for a single day should give me the claims buildings, but it's not working.

Is there some other requirement in Revolutions?

Did you place the troops there before the war started? If so, just order your troops to march out again, then halt them the next day.

Nope.

War's been going since August of '42, My troops didn't get to Hamilton until June '45, and it's December now.

Currently I'm unciv. Could that be part of it?

I don't know what's going on then. You don't happen to have military access or something like that?

I doubt it. I'll double-check, tho.

I'm uncived, and I don't have the Tech to colonize these provinces. Could that have something to do with it?

In revolutions, uncivs cannot take claims during wars. Uncivs can trade claims back and forth however.

Just what I need. Another handicap.

You'd think we could at least destroy the dang claims. There's no point in being a barbarian if you can't act barbaric.

Would somebody mind adding that to the wiki? Finding this out on the forum, after hours of gameplay, was extremely unfun. I can't do it because I'm not registered to edit the wiki.
