Something I always felt could have been improved in CK1 was the option to grant away titles. Often you already knew, which titles you want to give a certain courtier or vassal, but you had to hand out each title individually.
I propose to instead have a list were you could add all titles, you want to grant to a courtier or vassal.
So instead of having: make 'person' count (bishop) of X and later grant the title of duke (archbishop) of Y to count 'person' of X; you could have: make 'person' duke of Y and count of X.

That makes sense to me.

Another one that bugged me: Granting a title should not necessarily remove a character from court. Granted, I don't know how this would work in gameplay terms, but it seems like Kings granted young heirs significant titles without sending their 5 year old off to wales to rule.

Yeah, underaged landholders should stay at court for their educations until they reach majority.

Another thing is that some Marshal's and other court members were Dukes/Vassals themselves.

Yea they were basically always nobility, so had their own titles. It would be neat to have the ability to give titles to people in your court, besides marshal/steward/spymaster/etc..You should have the option of keeping them at the court, or asking a noble to come to your court. They can just appoint a governor for their lands or something.

Agreed on both points...

1) You could even argue that Marshall should be limited to either your character, or one of your more prominent vassals...

2) I would love to use the "minor job" system from Rome for this - give away minor jobs/titles to increase prominence and loyalty, or to reward/bribe vassals by giving their children those jobs

Not sure under which topic I already explained this. But at least originally offices such as the marshal's were held by members of the lesser nobility or even simple knighthood. It was only late in the game period that offices became so prestigious that members of the peerage sough them out. Of course it was also advantageous to the rulers to have officers of lower rank whose loyalty would be undivided...

Courtly Titles are another thing I'd like to see implemented along the lines of the 1st Medieval Total War. Courtly titles like chancellor, chamberlain, marshal and so forth could be given to anybody in your realm. Just drag the letters patent icon on top of them. So whether the person concerned was already Duke of the Franks of just Frank Some Dude, he was now your chancellor.

Making your cousin a duke should not preclude him from also being your marshal in CK2. William Marshal, possibly the most famous medieval marshal, also happened to be Earl of Pembroke. That's how these things worked.

I'd certainly prefer things this way, far more historical.

granting title to a 5years old child should not be possible at all.
the only way for a child to access to a title have to be inheritance.

Actually even younger children were granted titles that way. So that in itself is not a problem...

Yeah, sometimes children of monarchs were made counts and dukes virtually at birth. Of course in practice either the parents or a handpicked regent held actual power.

That's another thing I'd like to see: regencies for child rulers, and ideally also for mentally disabled ones (i.e. Henry VI of England).

I second this.
