1) I loaded the new 1.05 a couple of days ago. I'm having problems with the AI files on loading. I'm getting the error: "Can't open\mods\DH Full/ai\switch/ITA_NAVAL_Ethiopia AI". If I choose ignore the game loads. If I exit completely and restart I will get a different country listed (last time is was the Russian standard AI). The messages have the same /ai\switch format.

2) I choose counters as an option and counters do show up. The problem here is after I click on a particular division. The unit picture is not there (just a light colored X where the picture is supposed to be. It is like this for whatever country and unit type (naval, air or land). The only exception I've found so far it the HQ unit. It has the truck picture.

Any help....I love the game. THX

Weird, I have a clean installation of 1.05 and that file is there. If you ignore and load the game, what kind of errors do you find in savedebug.txt after quitting the game?

Please provide a screenshot.

Are you on Steam or did you use the installer to update the game?
 
I can't seem to be able to make a screenshot (don't use very much). Anyway I'm sending a 'save game' from the 33 scenario, it has the fewest units. The only one that has the individual unit pic is the HQ.

I've done my downloading from both my laptop (at Denny's) and my home computer, using both mirror 1 and mirror 2.

There are no errors indicated in that savedebug. Probably Steam goofiness. I'd suggest running the game from it's installation directory instead of Steam. Probably don't need to reinstall but, if problems persist than do so and update with the exe from the 1.05 thread instead of Steam.

Yeah, I noticed the same thing. I don't use Steam at all so that's not the issue. I downloaded from the mirror 1 & 2 sites (both) and using my laptop and home PC. The unzipping and installation seemed to go well. I get the correct check sum (DH Full) . I just tried to run DH light but it won't work at all. I was going to try to download and install using the launcher but I noticed something odd (so to speak). The launcher says to download DH 1.04 and since I have 1.05 installed the install button is grayed out. Is the area where is says to download version xxx updated automatically. I though it was. I would try to download 1.04 but I'm assuming it won't install over 1.05. I've also tried to install 1.05 on another drive but it crashes almost right away. Is it possible there is some file that was missing from my original 1.04? Also I've had no errors or problems loading the mods TGC and TRP. They work fine.
 
What operating system are you using? The troubleshooting method I'd use would be to uninstall all instances of Darkest Hour. Remove the directory. Install DH (probably 1.04 GOG?) test run exe DH Full checksum FGYE. Then install patch 1.05 and test run DH Full.
Rereading the thread it seems as a long shot that you are trying to run a DH 1.04 savegame with the new 1.05 version. Which shouldn't work.

Finally solved the problem apparently. No failures launch. None of the "AI file not found errors" during start up. Other than just a quick check (busy with cats at the vet), counters look fine (correct pics). Also the some of the new features appear to be good also. Will check more thoroughly later today. I found an older install I had done on my laptop in a different directory. After transferring and saving the files to my PC, I did a copy and paste. Checked all files for size before and after looking for changes. Anyway as near as I can tell there was an error / glitch to one of the startup files and or launcher / main.exe files that caused the problem. The one thing of particular note was that the launcher (from the laptop) showed the current patch as 1..04. After the copy and paste onto a different drive (not my main game drive) on my PC and starting the 1.04 patch the launcher was reporting the 1.05 patch as the current download. Seemed strange as 1.04 on the laptop and 1.05 on the PC. Separate drives and computers. The subsequent copy and paste to my main game drive worked fine. thanks for all the ideas and help:). Looking forward to exploring all of the new features in 1.05.!!!!! Have a great new year all of the 1.05 dev team.
 
I will add my problem here because it is a graphic problem ;)

With 1.05 i cant "maximise" my game after i have minimized it. I'm running R9 Radeon graphic card with AMD driver 17.11.1 on Win7 64bit.

Some else with this problems?
 
Better to search Windows tech support. Maybe something about pinning and those programs being sent to an unrecoverable sleep after minimize. Try Win_key + # of tab position to wake it. Alt+tab to it in the program list. There are probably other hotkey methods to switch programs now as well.
