Hello chaps,
after playing for some time with bio-empires i went back to MIs. I was shocked how much they have changed. Problem is the pop growth in MIs is for me completly unreliable. I have mass produced as trait and rapid replicators as civic. Despite that i get most of the time a meager +4 a month. On other times it is up to +8 or +11. On other times it is down to -2. Please mind that is not during the time, when a new colony is on its way and immigration takes place. I thought it has something to do with "open jobs", but then i see a -2 when there are free "jobs" on my energy planet. I would like to suggest the devs, please, give it a more constant and higher growth speed. I have in 2250 about 4 planets, which have only the smallest amount of pops. Hardly any research by that time. i have around 250 research with the MI, while with a normal (!) bioempire i had by that time already around 500 research.
Have you equal experience? How do you deal with it?
Thanks.

Machine Empires (outside Rogue Servitors and Driven Assimilators) don't have anything that's growing naturally. All your growth should be assembly from jobs, so take a look at where your assembler jobs are coming from if you want more.

Assembly is split between all the "species" being built on the planet. Any fractional assembly just determines the chance that you will get an extra pop assembled this month. For example: 2.5 growth of one species means a 50-50 chance of 2 or 3 pops assembled each month. So there is some randomness, especially when there are many species.

If you're looking at the total number shown on the planet, that includes migration, which can be random.

If you're looking at the numbers next to the pop groups, that also includes shifts between strata.

If you want to see the actual predicted assembly each month, check the tooltips of the numbers next to the pop groups.

I wrote growth, but i meant assembly clearly. My fault. I know about those numbers in the pop groups. Still there is hardly any or very low assembly increase despite having, as i wrote i the original post, all possibilities enabled to increase pop assembly number, including the assembly building. Still the machine are so gravely behind in pop growth to bio empires that that has to be changed. So i ask if there is any similar experience about that matter from other players and no explaination what pop assembly is or where to find it. Thanks.
