Summary
Guarantees are inconsistent with automatic co-belligerents and the HRE emperor.Description
Attacking a subject automatically co-belligerates their overlord but does not trigger any guarantees on that overlord. Co-belligerating an allied nation who has a guarantee does call in the guarantor so long as that ally is not the emperor of the HRE. If the emperor of the HRE is co-belligerated any guarantees will not trigger even if the guarantor is allied to the primary target.Steps to reproduce
In the attached test file declaring war on Sligo co-belligerating Scotland will trigger the French guarantee, however attacking the Isles where Scotland is automatically co-belligerated does not. In the attached France_guarantee file attacking Thuringia co-belligerates Brunswick who is guaranteed by Brandenburg (Brandenburg is also allied to Thuringia). Brandenburg is no called into the war. This Emperor inconsistency can also affect non HRE members, in the test file attacking Ragusa and manually co-belligerating Austria does not call in Poland who guarantees Austria and is allied to Ragusa; while only attacking Ragusa calls in both Poland and Austria.Game Version
