I think that it is fair to say that CK3 has tried a lot of things, and sometimes the execution doesn't live up to the vision. For me, one of the biggest gaps in "good idea" and "good execution" was House Feuds from Friends & Foes. This had potential to be great, but in practice was hard to view, frequently buggy, and had only a few repetitive events. The new "House Relationship" mechanic announced to support the Japanese content has great, far-reaching effects. Building up relations over time between two dynasties or falling into a nasty feud. From the sounds of things, forming house blocs is unique to the Japanese government, but house relations are for everyone, which is great!
I think reviving this idea and giving it a proper interface will give it a real chance to live up to its potential.
