I was wondering if anyone can help, possibly the great Hartman him/herself?

I have installed the new version of the Grand Campaign
and jolly groovy it looks too and I have edited the various
config files using Cetus Wordpad and saved as a windows files. I am running 1.07c using an English version.

The various problems I encounter are as follows :

1. the new game will not boot at all either from a
shortcut, a .exe file or from the CD.

2. If it does boot then I cannot load a saved scenario
It will freeze just before it initializes the autoscript
thing

can you help ? is it the way i am saving the config files or what- please help for i am forlorn.

Thanx

You should only edit text.csv and save as such.

Normally this occurs if a csv is missing or has the wrong format, so probably something went wrong with Your editing.

2. If it does boot then I cannot load a saved scenario
It will freeze just before it initializes the autoscript
thing

Do You mean an old savegame from the original GC? (This should maybe not work anyway). Or do You mean You *could* start the IGC, but then a saved IGC game wouldn´t load again? (I have no clue about the last one, but I would say it all has to do with wrong editing of csv-files in the first place.)

is it the way i am saving the config files or what- please help for i am forlorn.

Most probably. After unzipping the files into the EU folder You *only* have to edit text.csv in wordpad. After editing just save (not 'save as').

Thanks Hartmann

I have solved the problem now- I dont think My Word pad
application was saving the csv files correctly, I have
now used another application and Lo and behold all is
hunky dory just like your readme said it would be.
