So last week I know Steam had a big UI update and I know its cause some issues, I originally had no problems I was able to launch CK2 and I think I even installed a mod or two post update, all good.
I had an issue with trying to get one mod to work with another (this really isn't that important) so I decided to to a clean reinstall with a new lineup of mods (I know for some that may seem extreme but sometimes I got too much crap to micromanage) and since Ive had issues with the workshop.
So first of all I have already tried the standard fixes, cache verification, clean install, and deleting the whole game file in steam and reinstalling.. I am able to get mods from here on the forums but not all of the mods exist here like "ruler designer unlocked" and the like. I was able to get the mods to actually download.. well according to steam.. sort of sometimes? Ya im as confused as you, but they don't show up in the launcher, yes I know about how you need to restart the launcher to actually select the mods.
So today I, by accident, found out that while having the launcher open and on the mods tab when you hit the subscribe button on any of the workshop mods they will show up in the launcher, steam workshop downloads even showed up. I was like YES PROGRESS!... close and open the launcher and im back to square one.
Been frustrating as I enjoy the convenience of the workshop, also I was able to download a mod for the game Project Zomboid today and it worked fine. So im guessing theirs something wrong with some kind of pointer but I have no clue where to look I do remember there was some fix awhile back where steam would download the mods but in a file within its own directory and all you needed to do was move them to the paradox mod folder... but the details are lost on me. If anyone remembers the actual name of the directory for that I would appreciate it.
Valve needs to fix the workshop because this is not the first time and not even with CK2.
Thanks to anyone whose found a solution.
