While trying to start a multiplayer game, a friend and I cannot seem to connect to each other over the internet, we both have each others IP addresses. We have tried to ping each other, I can ping him, but he cannot ping me. Also tried a trace route, I can trace him to 5 hops, but he cannot see me. We both have the same version, and both have the american (english) version. We both have ICQ, and are able to transmit messages back and forth. Any ideas?

Seems like....

... a setting error. We then of course assume that you are not behind a firewall or a proxy.

If one of you can ping, that would mean that the one that can NOT ping should be the host. Tried that ?

The network setting should be checked on both machines....

Still having problems.

Neither of us are behind a firewall. We both have compared our network settings, and are both set up the same, we both also have cable. Only thing I can think of doing is each of us trying to get a game going separately with someone to find out which one of us has the problem.
