Heh, Europa Universalis II crashes less in Linux.

This is the extent of my geekiness, but if anyone uses Linux, then try running it under wine (windows emulator). It no longer crashes at the victory points after-game screen (which it sometimes does on Win2000/XP). Also, the sound works fine and I can get the proper refresh rate working here (for some reason it defaults to 60hz when I run the game in windows). Anyway, this was with Mandrake 8.2 and was purely a curiosity for anyone who was wanting to try the game on a different medium. There's a good version of WINE at www.transgaming.com

The exit crashes are due to some problem I have with direct x refusing to shutdown properly..

Doesn't surprise me the least that the Linux emulation works better..
