Help! 2.1 messed up my UI...

I just purchased the game. I installed it, and played it for a few years (game time). Everything seemed to be fine. Then I installed the 2.1 beta and it totally messed up all the UI screens...

Here is what the starting screen looks like (click for larger image)


When loading the scenario data, I get three error messages





As you can see the in game screens are all crazy and unreadable too...


Whats going on here? According the the 2.1 patch thread, its all inclusive and doesn't require any prior patching... But given what I'm seeing, it certainly looks like I'm missing some files...

Also seems to be no way to do research...



And clicking the ledger causes the game to freeze.

The 2.1 beta patch is for the Crusader Kings expansion pack Deus Vult

From your screenshots I see that you don't have Deus Vult, so for you patch 1.05 is the latest patch

It says its Deus Vult on the loading screen... There is a big banner over the Knights head that says "Deus Vult"; thats why I thought I had purchased Deus Vult. Now I see its an online purchasable only expansion.

Thanks for info. I would have just gone on forever thinking my copy of Deus Vult was broken, LOL. It really is misleading having Deus Vult being the only words in the loading screen... They probably should have picked a different name for the expansion

I can report that I get the same problem when installing the 2.1 Patch on my Vista machine.. Haven't yet tried it at my XP machine.. I have bought and installed DV

EDIT: I'm not completly sure that it's not my fault but this is what happened when I installed Beta 08-10-15

Reproducable:Yes-every time
OS: Vista Premium

Screens:

Pressing Ignore gets you along otherwise a fatal error occurs..

Ignore again..

And then you're out in the game..
But if you try to do some actions or appoint a character the UI gets screwed up and you cant see what's happening...

I'll do a complete Reinstallation and if I have the time even try it on my XP to see if I can get it there aswell..

From the screens I can see that you don't have Dues Vult installed. Do you have the expansion for Crusader Kings, Dues Vult ? The Deus Vult opening screens are completely different, don't let the term Dues Vult on the first screen fool you.

Deus Vult is not a patch but an expansionpack that you need to buy. Either a digital version from Gamersgate or a Crusader Kings Complete Pack (CD-version) which can be bought at several online stores (Amazon f.e.).

I now see that you have registered Deus Vult, so you have bought it from Gamersgate. It looks like something went wrong with your installation. Check where you have installed CK and then check where the installer is going to install Deus Vult

After a new installation I got it right...
