Help A Friend

Hi, I have a little problem, and I really hope you can help me about it. I always played EU2 on my old PC (a desktop, Pentium III with Windows98) without big difficulties. Recently I bought a Notebook (Pentium IV with Windows XP) and I installed the game on it. Unfortunately after I've selected the campaign and the country, as soon as I push "start" the game shuts, and the PC comes back to desktop. Why??
I upgraded to patch 1.07 (italian version) and this problem happens with and without modifying text.csv!

Please help me

Sounds like perfect english to me, but I'm an American, so I wouldn't know

Sounds like there might be a problem with the Scenario or your Video card... I'd elaborate, but I've let my knowledge on the subject dwindle down to obscurity

Now we are in the proper forum, My first suggestion is to rename the AVI folder to AVI_back.

Maybe take hardware acceleration down a notch?

Let's see if the AVI rename clears it up first, it is kind of a pain to adjust the acceleration slider all the time.

For whose reply? Did you try renaming the AVI folder? That's the usual cause of troubles under Windows XP, I believe.
