So, I bought this game last year and it confused me even more than vicky. But, because CK 2 is coming out, I wanted to get back into it.

What are some good beginner counties and any tips would be greatly appreciated. or any learning AARs would be good as well

thanks

For basics, I would point you to the top of this forum. The Crusader Kings: A Beginner Tutorial with Pictures (By President Rex) and Links to important threads, mods and general game information stickies provide a ton of helpful information. I would also recommend you getting the Deus Vult Improvement Pack mod and BOPACK mod, as they add a ton of events and pictures, you can find those in the mod subforum. One of my favorite CK AARs is Wiz's Hohenzollern mega-AAR (starts with CK, ends with HOI). It isn't a beginner's guide, but it shows how interesting a game of CK can be, be warned that he did use certain cheats that can make the game less frustrating (force diplomacy for certain marriages, which the AI seems to always not accept from the human). I actually just started playing CK again a few days ago and it is great fun, but also super frustrating, can't wait for CKII.
