HELP - assistance requested

I have just installed HOI on my laptop (works fine on my desktop). Did a fresh install and unzipped 1.06b into the directory. Now, when I start the game, it loads, music comes up, I can adjust options, but when it tries to load any scenario it tells me:

can not load "ai/minor_default.ai"

I will CTD if I don't abort it at this point.

Any help greatly appreciated...

Did you install 1.06 before 1.06B?
1.06B requires 1.06 first.
