Hi people

I have been using Windows XP and no problems at all.

I installed SP1 last night, and now other games still work but not EU II and HOI !!

I am usinag the latest patches, and it's not the save games, as I tried also new games from the start

I get an immediate crash to desktop the second I try LOADING a game or creating a new one from scratch.

I am using a Dell Laptop, with a ATI RADEON 9000 Mobile 64 MB.
and 512MB of RAM; no system requirements problems (I think)

I rebooted also and started afresh.

Can anyone help me out with this info ?

That's the ONLY thing I changed since last night

Thx
Jean

Gauthijm, you can load the game up fine but when you try to load up a saved game, it sometimes decides to shut down? And then you have to reboot and restart the game? I've had a problem like this with my HOI installation. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one.

Not Exactly

Now I cannot load a game in either HOI or EU II, as well as not create a new game...

Essentially a CTD EVERY time now I try to load or CREATE a new game ?

Help ?

Thx
Jean

----------------------

Update: I just REINSTALLED the latest version of the ATI Drivers on the Dell website, just in case SP1 had overwritten them with it's "update" to SP1...

Still the same CTD on all counts

Sigh...

Help ?

This should be in support!
I will help you there.

Now that we are in support forum...
You should be able to fix this by renaming the AVI folder to AVI_back

Renamed the avi to avi_old myself and it works, but yes i think that this will fix your problem.

Gauthijm,

I was having the same problem as you, running Windows XP with SP 1 on my Dell laptop. Every time I tried to load a saved game or start a new one, I would have a CTD.

If you rename the AVI folder to something else (such as AVI_old), like they have suggested, that fixes the problem.

True Love !!!!

I love you guys....

I love you people..

I love you all !

Seriously, thx a million

I make a FORMAL VOW to BUY any and all Paradox products in the future, especially if they are based on the EU engine

Thx a million
