Help intermittent startup problem!!!

I installed EU2 yesterday - great game! However I can play the game a couple of times and following a reboot try again and the game fails to start, some sort of error with the 'bink' video. I have performed the 'repair' on the installation (again) and for now the game is working (so I can't give the exact message), but I know it will go wrong again, as I have done this several times, please advise?

P.S. I'm using 1.04 (clean install) on XP Pro. system, 256Mb Ram and GEForce 2 GTS display card using latest detonator drivers.

Go to your c:\program files\strategy first\..... directory and delete (or rename) the 'avi' folder. This will fix your problem. Enjoy the game.

P.S. I take it that this is a known bug then?

yes it is known. It's the BinkPlayer app that isn't working right with XP.
