This is crazy, the game seams great but it always end up crashing.
The territorial is unplayable, and I can not declare war when I play Denmark in the great campaign.
I have tried to download the new update, but that do not help at all.
So my question is, am I screwed or can something be done.

We have been testing both the 1.07c version and the 1.08 version in Danish all day here and we haven't experienced a single crash. This is really puzzling.

Can you please fill in the following:

OS:
Service pack:
CPU (brand and speed):
Soundcard:
Graphics adapter:
RAM:
DirectX version:
Programs running in the background:
Other (if game crashes at specific events etc):

Patric

Windows 98
CPU: Intel Pentium II processor 400 MHz
65 MB ram
Soundcard: Crystal Audio 4235
Graphics adapter: 4 MB of video ram.
DirectX version: DirektX 7.0, the one from the CD.
Background programs: Prassi abCD.
Other: especially bad when I am dealing with the hansa (both when I am declaring war and when I am trading).

I tested the danish 1.08 version for 1 minute to get a crash. Started GC as England, promoted Anglia administrator to 'forvalter', entered trade menu, and moved the mouse cursor over one of the shields. Crashed to desktop immediately.

Specs:
freshly installed EU DK version with 1.08 DA/SW/NO patch
notebook computer
windows 2000, service pack 1
directx 8 retail downloaded from microsoft (crashed with EU cdrom version as well, just checked to see if it made a difference)
intel mobile pentium 3, 500 mhz
256 mb ram
sound card: ESS Maestro
gfx card: ATI Rage P/M Mobility AGP 2X
programs running: msn messenger, bunch of std services

crash

Mine also crash - everytime after about 10-15 min. - (game closes without any warning).

OS: win98
Service pack: no
CPU (brand and speed): PIII 450
Soundcard: soundblasterLive
Graphics adapter: TNT 2 (32mb)
RAM: 128 MB
DirectX version: 8.0
Programs running in the background:
None (usually have a few - but running the game with none makes no diff)

Ok I have been testing it a bit, and have found two places where it crash.
It is always when I am making diplomatic negotiations(declaring war), and when I am inside the trade window.
I hope it is something that can be fixed, or avoided.

Crash crash crash and bad translation

Danish version.

Keeps crashing with or without patch.

Crashed on the following systems:
W2K P3-750 Mhz Dell Latitude 16 mb grafik card 128 mb ram
W98SE Celeron 450 Mhz 32 MB TNT-2 ultra, 256 mb ram

Always crash if:
(1) You are on the trade screen and move your mouse over the trade levels.
(2) You declare war.

The voice acting in the intro is terrible and the translation (oh my god!) is so bad, that even if it did'nt crash all the time, i would still send it back tomorrow.

Sometimes you cant get out of the diplomatic screens because the button goes over one another because the translation has to many words.

I got one word for you guys!: Sue the heck out of the translators and send us the English version. Almost everybody in Denmark over 16 speaks english! (yeah yeah thats more than one word, whatever!)

And I even took a day of to play that game.

It looks good by the way, looking forward to kicking some sweedish but.

lousy danish translation

Agreed - the danish translation is really horrible. It's obvious that the translaters haven't spent time proof-reading the manual either which is literally stuffed with stupid stupid errors.

The in-game text translation is the most annoying part - I really hope that it will be possible to convert the danish version to english at some point.
