In the world map screen when you go to pick what squad to send there's a greyed out option on the lower-right which is available after the squad's on its way on the surface to watch the battle.
Not sure if you can micro manage that battle too but this dev does seem to be all about excessive micromanagement so probably

You have to right click on top of the raid icon on the world map and then click the arrow like button at the bottom. If your squad has arrived you will be able to click it and view the battle.
From my experience you can only see the raid combat, not micromange any of the actions or cast spells.
You cannot control your units but I have been able to cast lightning bolt on the mobs my units are fighting.
I can confirm this. You can't micromanage your units but you can right click and drag on the enemy and cast spells on them.
