Help Pls

i really want to play on the vnet but everytime i host or try to join a game it says "no game host found at ip address <there ip address> please check the ip address and connection and try again" and everyone else can join but i cant ive tried turning off my networks firewall im on internet sharing on an ms network windows xp please help.

Im still lost after reading the whole thread im not very good with networking. im 15 and my dad sets up the network and everything. i dont know my ip address for the router but i do know its linksys. any more help would be appreciated.
