Help? (with patch)

Well when I install the patch and try to run the game it says that the cd isn't in the drive. I tried the US patch but it says the game isn't installed so I had to use the UK one (for some reason I have the UK version?) I know that the patch fixes the crash problems because its preety impossible to play with the crashes.

I know this game is old now and I will soon get EU2 but first I gotta learn how to play this one with out cheats

it's not impossible you were sold the UK version. I do have the UK version myself.

What is the publisher name on the box or CD? Not Paradox, but the publisher - Black Star, or who? That will determine which version you have and therefore which patch to use. Probably you will have to uninstall the whole thing and reinstall from scratch, then the patch.

I thought you fixed it by installing the UK patch. Sorry. As Andrew said, check the publisher on the box and it will tell you what patch you need.

Tried all that uninstalled about 6 times and still nothing and black star published it.

Blackstar is the Benelux publisher, you need the BEN patch as specified in the link.

the Benelux (BElgium-NEtherland-LUxemburg) version is in english.

One store was selling the Benelux version of EU 1 early on, but that was an illegal version, IIRC. I'm too lazy to search the forum, but this was explained in detail around the time I joined, ca May-June.

Anyway, you got it working so enjoy it

I think my copy is legit I bought it from www.compuexpert.com now its www.gogamer.com it came with the manual only so I don't know.
Oh yeah and I got it when it came out but didn't like it cuz i didn't understand it but now i do

than that explains it Yeah, I seem to remember Compuexpert had an illegally imported version. Things were corrected thereafter though. Anyway, you don't have to worry, it's not your fault. A lot of people were like you when it came out.
