Help with re-installing 1.01

I had some issues with my copy of Victoria. It kept hanging at the end of the load scenario process (even with a new Grand Campaign, so it wasn't just a corrupted scenario file).

So I did a repair installation. Then I tried to install 1.01 and it told me I already had 1.01 (and wouldn't install it).

So then I uninstalled the whole thing and re-installed. Then when I tried to install 1.01 it still told me I already had 1.01 (and wouldn't install it).

So, I need to re-install 1.01 but the patch won't let me re-install it. How can I do this?

I'm not a techincal guy, but I would go to Start->Settings->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs

Look down the list and see if you find anything to do with the game - installation or patch - and remove it. Then start from scratch.

(I even restarted after removing it via the Add/Remove Programs panel before re-installing)

After uninstalling, did you go into windows explorer and delete the file folder for the game? There could be some files left over I guess . . .

If you know what your doing go in whit regedit
the 4 my copy is send to me so i make a guese

but be carreful (kan delet all reference to ALL software)

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM

Vic, SF, American on Windows ME

I tried to make a clean install and now the patch refuses to reinstall because "YOU ALREADY HAVE THE PATCH INSTALLED"

ARRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH

I saw this thread and thought "Great! In 12 replies someone must have given a fix!"

Add/Remove programs doesnt even list the patch

I have tried regular uninstall and custom where I just select everything. I make sure the main folder is deleted.

Im going to assume a lot of people will have this problem.

And luckily I dont use PM. So just post the fix please.

Notice that 1.Uninstall is a hot link, follow it for instructions on removing Victoria from your system.
