Since the update I've gotten consistent crashes after very little game time, never longer than a few months in game. I saw a lot of threads on problems with nvidia gpus and windows 11, but those do not apply to me. I've updated BIOS to the latest version, attempted to do the fullscreen fix that was mentioned in previous posts, and running in vulkan with no success. If there are any other potential solutions that I have not yet attempted as I very much would like to be allowed to play this game again.

Right click on victoria3.exe , properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullScreen optimisations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply and exit.

Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select fullScreen display mode, Vsync off, cap refresh rate at 60.

If those don't help:

DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

IF dxdiag.txt fails to attach here, rename it to dxdiag.log , or zip it up.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Victoria3/pdx_settings.json .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Victoria3/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Victoria3/crashes/ folder, attach here the latest (only!) exceptions.txt

I had already tried that first solution after reading it on another thread. Attached are the files requested.

System Manufacturer: ASUS
System Model: System Product Name
BIOS: 2103 (type: UEFI)
Processor: 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13700K
You mentioned updating the bios, but:
ASUS BIOS version 2103 is a specific update for ASUS motherboards, particularly those in the Z690 series, released in late 2022
To fix the issues with those CPUs you need the very most recent one, from less than 2 months ago! Please check with ASUS again, I'm pretty sure that will fix or at least help your problems.

You were correct, I was using the page I bought the Motherboard from and trusting what they said I was sent, which was not correct. I am now certain that I'm on the correct BIOS version and now Victoria crashes faster than it did before. The game lasted 4 in game days the first attempt after updating, and didn't even get to select a country the second. Attached is the latest exception and the system and error logs for just today.

I now notice the crash is in amdvlk64.dll which is part of the AMD video driver - I haven't seen that one before. Conceivably it is a problem in that driver, although we'd expect more such reports if so. Let's go a clean reinstall of that driver:

- uninstall it with this tool https://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/AMD-Clean-Uninstall-Utility.aspx
- reboot
- install the very latest from here http://support.amd.com/en-us/download
- reboot again
- if you are still on vulkan, switch the game back to DirectX11 (as you don't have the Windows version that vulkan helps with)

Good luck!
