Greetings. I recently discovered that my computer had a faulty hard drive, and had to replace it. I just reinstalled EU2, and tried to patch it to 1.08 (not b, I don't have CK yet). However, the game won't recognize that it has been patched. The game still starts up as version 1.00, with no hint that it's been patched. I tried getting the patch from as different site, but that didn't help. What's going on, and how do I fix it?
 
you have problalby told the installer to install either the game or the patch in the worng directory. Done that myself a couple of times.

What happened when you ran the patch program?

Did you install to the default directory?

Who is the publisher of your version, their logo will be on the CD.
 
yes, I let it use the default directory, and when it was finished, it said it had completed installing, but I run the game and...nothing changes. I tried downloading the patch from a different link, but that didn't help. The publisher is strategyfirst.com
 
You must have had an alternate version installed in a different place at one time, and the patch is finding that in the registry. I'd uninstall EU2, clean out all keys that mention "paradox", "universalis" or "strategy first" in the registry (back it up first!) and then install EU2 and 1.08 then.
 
I was not talking about the patch using the default directory rather the original install of the game? Just want to clear that point up.

Did you get EU2 bunddled with any other software from Stategy first?
