Hi anyone.
I'm not really god at this forumthing and I couldn't find any answer to my question in the FAQ though it may still be there.
So here it goes:

My computer have no problems with the system requirements, yet the game refuses to start after installed.
Pleace god citizens, come to my aid!

Thank's for notice.
I am still running XP and I get no message, no nottin'. I wait for something that simply doesn't happen. Some people I've noticed on the forum have problems at first start and that several minutes can pass during loading first time you run it but for me it doesn't even get to that. As I said there are no problems with system requirements so I'm stuck...

So you just have the base game EU:Rome, not the expansion VV? Have you applied the 1.3 patch, if so?

Also, how long have you waited? Some folks have reported delays of up to 30 minutes, although that's more commonly with Vista or Win7 than XP.

Ha! Maybe I'm only simply holding the record then, some 40 minutes or so and stil nothin'. Have thou begun considering buying a newer dvd-reader, a friend had a problem with one other game for that reason. I'll let you know if it works. Any other ideas thou would still be good.

And well yes I just got hold of the patch but it didn't do it for me.

Unluckily a EU bundle sale just ended. You could of had several EU games for under 25 Euros.

But if you really want to play:
http://www.gamersgate.co.uk/DDB-ROMEX/europa-universalis-rome-gold

Digital download. All the cool kids do it these days, don't have to leave the house nor do you have to worry with disc problems. You can download it whenever you want.

Nonetheless, this is a last ditch suggestion. It's probably rather offensive that I am telling you that to play the game, you must pay some more money. :eek:o

Just downloading it is not enough, you need to actually apply (install) it too. Can you confirm that Rome now says it's 1.3 at it comes up?

Please run DXDIAG, Save All Info, and post dxdiag.txt here (first delete everything after the Sound Devices section so it will fit). Also post your Rome/settings.txt and Rome/logs/system.log files. Note that if you use Vista/Win7 and have installed the game in the suggested folder c:\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\Rome\, the active versions of these last two files will have been redirected by Vista/win7 to a non-system directory, like c:\Users\[name]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\Europa Universalis - Rome\, where [name] is your Vista/Win7 user name. You may have to search your C: drive for them.
