Hi my game is running choppy it takes almost 10-15 minutes to load initially when its loading globals and stuff and the videos at the beginning stutter a bit. Also when I'm in game I get pauses every once in awhile. The biggest problem seems to be load times for save games and when I initially start the game. I have EU2 and that runs beautifully. I have a Dell Precision 420 Workstation, Pentium III 731 Mhz, with 128 MB ram, Windows 2000 profesional, a Matrox Millenium G400 Dualhead Max Video Card with 32 MB memory and finally I have a soundblaster live! wave device sound card. Anyhelp would be much appreciated is my computer just junk? Thanks for you time......

Re sound/video problem:

Are all of your drivers up to date?

Make sure you have DirectX 8.1 since that will definitely create a problem if you don't. If you do then run DirextX diagnostics...

Start --> Run then type dxdiag

...and then run the test utilities.

If you're still having problems then reduce the hardware acceleration by a couple notches or turn it off all together. That usually fixes the problem.

Re load times:

128MbRAM is pretty skinny for Win 2000 so you're probably hampered by virtual RAM use. Upgrading to 256+ will have a bigger impact on performance than virtually any other upgrade you can make. Since RAM is cheap, I'd do that ASAP and put in 512Mb or more.

Edit: You may also be in serious need of a disk deframent...you might want to do a complete uninstall, clean and defrag the drive, and then reinstall.

Woops...one more suggestion that could help:

Make sure that you aren't running any unnecessary TSRs in the background since that will eat up your all-too-valuable RAM as well.

What type of CDROM drive are you using to run the game? I have seen problems with other games where the performance dropped off considerably using a certain type of CDROM or DVD drive.

Lots of initial advice here for you to try. :)
Also rename your AVI folder to AVIback. It may help with initial game load time.

Thanks!

Thanks alot guys I got some RAM and now my game is running smoothly thanks for the prompt reply's also excellent game guys keep up the good work :D

Another satisfied customer, that's what we like to hear. :)
