i am totally lost, and i don't know what to do. I start a game, and i figured out pausing to deliver orders, unpause to see the response, then repause. i also figured out how to do a few things, like attack a territory, perform diplomacy or arrange a marriage.

However, i do not know how to distribute my provinces under my command to the generals i want to have them. I am also confused about how to build things.

To build things you have to use your court members. You click on your Master of Arms and then "Improve Castle" and he will travel to the province you selected and begin to improve the caste. To distribute titles, you have to go to the character screen of the individual who you want to have the title. Click on "Grant Landed Title" and they usually will accept. Is that what you were asking about? If not, let me know!

Well, i learned i can only build stuff in a territory i have not assigned as a title. I also learned that it can be painful when your territory lords perform with ineptitude and don't stop enemy advances. I also learned i can not upgrade castle and village at same time, how do i control what is being built in the territory? can i choose specific upgrade, how do i build a temple?

I don't like giving out Providences! It would be better if i could reassign them as "blocks" but that would involve making my generals angry for stripping them of titles?

How do i "encourage" these people to send their troops to the front lines instead of conquering my enemies, taking over those territories and basically usurping me?

my intention is to "sandbag" while building alliances and upgrading my stuff.

Then, i get into a war, no matter how it happens; and my generals (blue troops) start auto-attacking! Leaving my territories undefended, and auto-giving them to this guy who basically does what he wants to and i can't stop his train wreck of my kingdom.

As the ruler of your kingdom you can't force your vassals to build how you want them too. Part of what keeps them happy is autonomy. This is historically correct and it wouldn't make sense for you to govern the whole thing. I can understand the frustration when you want something specific built but it doesn't happen. Unfortunately, it's the nature of the beast. You can't upgrade both at the same time or in a place you don't directly control. See above for why. As for not being able to build both at the same time, I believe it is because of a risk/reward type of style. You have to build to the future and that might mean going to war soon so you need to do a castle upgrade before a village upgrade. Also, they build in order. You have to continually send the Master of Arms to upgrade the castle if you want to go deep enough into the building system. "How do i "encourage" these people to send their troops to the front lines instead of conquering my enemies, taking over those territories and basically usurping me?" I'm not exactly sure what you are asking me right here. Are you saying you want them to fight in your army but not to actually capture any land? If so, they basically don't have too. The ruling lords of their demesne have to supply you with a certain amount of soldiers. After that, they are allowed to follow where they want with their own personal armies. If you find that you are getting counter-attacked you may have to stop a siege to go back and defend. Your lords won't be happy to just sit around and defend the lands while you gain everything! Everyone has ambitions in this game to possibly be the next Shogun. Did I answer your questions? Let me know!

I mean that i don't want my underlings to raze the countryside and come out owning more land than i do! These soldiers are nuts, they just auto-attack and capture territories i am not ready to defend. They take their troops and do stupid things with them, such as attacking a bad territory instead of holding guard while i await attack.

I'm no expert at this game by any means, but I've had some decent success in my last few games. If you'd liek to play a multiplayer game, where we can chat and talk about strategy\ideas\gameconcepts I'd be more than willing to. Not enough people play this game in my opinion.

DON'T TRUST HIM!!! Haha, seriously though, not enough people play this game. I feel like it is just a few random souls stumbling around the dusty old forum :(

Look like I can not open a new thread in this section. I'll take this one for help needed.

I just purchased the game on Steam and I would like to register the game as usual so I can get to Technical Support and other parts of this forum.
However, I am confused where to find my registration cod. It usually pop up somewhere on Steam, iirc, but look like it is not the case here. It is not on my bill from Steam eiter. Did I forgot something or am I loosing my mind :) Where I can find it? Can someone help me with this?
