Hello! :)

I'd like to start HoI AAR, which allows me both to enjoy playing the game and vent my inborn creativity (though I don't say I'm good writer :p). And I want you, my audience, to be important part of it. Here is what come to my mind...

Base for the story will be HoI game, as usual. I'm not yet decided which country is gonna be "center of universe" for this AAR, it's one thing that shall be chosen soon. Once this is clear, whole fun can begin. You, who want to track this AAR and spend your time reading it, shall become my Prime Ministers, Highest Army Commanders, Ministers and people of played country. You'll give me commands and I'll try execute them in the game best I can. Since my capabilities are limited, result won't be always 1:1. After "execution phase", I'll write AAR story, incorporating your requests into it so it'll be solid-continious story. That's my objective.

OK, I believe idea is clear, let's begin!

Presidential Elections 1936
Already concluded. 13 people voted, all votes were counted. Mr. Rocketman clearly won, being new US president.

Candidates
Mr. Seidita - 23.08%
Mr. Rocketman - 69.23%
Mr. Warman-mx - 7.69%

Constitution of the United States
Relations between above mentioned commanders and leaders will be outlined here. So things are clear and easy figured out. You might want to comment it though  I'm opened to any comments/suggestions. ;)

1. Governmebt
Government is responsible and in charge of running country. It is represented by President and Vice President.

1.1 President
- President is head of state and government as well as commander-in-chief of the US armed forces.
- president has all power in his hands, ge represents cabinet, making decisions as if he would be whole cabinet
- When elected, president has right to assig/reassign members of his cabinet as he wishes (ingame ministers)
- President has right to promote and demote armed forces officers according recommendation of armed forces chief officers (officers in high command). He can promote/demote armed forces chief officers according his persuasion.

1.1.1 Presidential Elections
Presidential elections are held one month before end of term of current presidnet. President is elected for 4-years term, no person shall be elected more than twice. Candidate with most votes is elected next president of the US. He picks his vice president during or after campaign.

1.2 Vice President
- In case president is not present or is unable to run his office, vice president takes his rights and responsibilities and runs presidential office for time regular president is unable to do so.
- When presidnet resigns, vice president becomes president and new vice-presidential elections for rest of presidential term are held.

1.2.1 Vice-Presidential Elections
See point 1.1.1

2. High Commands
Each high command (land-US Army. air-USAF, navy-US Navy) has full jurisdiction over its domain. Plans operations, assemble amry/air/navy groups and assigns leaders to it.

2.1 Chiefs of Armed Forces
- They are subordinated directly to president of the US

2.2 Reserve Officers
- Reserve officers are available as advisers to Chief Officers and president
- In case of Chief Officers are not available President assigns one of Reserver Officers as Cheif Officer, for the time regular Chief Officer is not available

Let's try the US!

Can I command an Army Group?? Pretty please?? :D

Oh yeah let me command the 1st Infantry Division. The Big Red One deserves my talents.

That is......if we go US

Which we should.

:)

Seems most of you want to see US in action :) I'll count your votes and summarize it in first post. We'll wait yet if another people want to vote. Otherwise, country can be chosen tomorrow. For now it's 100% sure - USA.

As for command: You get what you ask for. First in place counts ;)

@ThewEiRdOne27 - commander of army group, should be specified when country defined

@CSL_GG - commander of 1st Infantry Division

@metal - general, also to be specified further

may I command some of your fighters?

Fighters or even whole airforce :) It's you choice

OOC: does flag you use corresponds with location you live in?

Just fighters, I do not want to be the one accused of flattening german cities to the ground, thank you ;)

and yes, it does ;) (see my sig  )

Ok, it's tomorrow and there are no votes which would change the result, so it'll be USA. Now on, you can apply for commander's position and submit your commands if you are already in.

Your commands/requests could be about anything what is possible to achieve by actions in the game. As infantry division commander you may want to urge infantry research and try to influence things that way. Also you may have some clear strategy how to perform offensive/defensive operations, when to reinforce weakened troops, how to deal with lack of supply and which generals should lead parts of your army group(s). As minister, you may want to push more on production than research, you may want to produce surplus of consumer goods to feed your voters (and get their votes in next election), improve relations with one country and get away from another, try to ally with neighbours or cut off representatives of army just to make them mad. There are lot of possibilities and you are the master. You might "play" similar to mentioned examples or invite your own. Either way, have fun and I believe this will be funny :)

this sounds like a great idea.

i have a couple of suggestions though.

i see that the other guys have asked to lead an army group... this to me seems like a very hard thing to do because youve got 3 or 4 people leading their own army.

i think it would be easier and more exciting if you would have these 3 or 4 army guys be high commanders of the whole army.

afterwards they can each of them make a plan for X military operation and then the whole cabinet could proceed to do a vote and appoint the army commander best suited for a task.

this way you would be running everything from a macromanagement point of view , instead of so much micromanagement that comes with knowing who is the leader of what army...

same thing with the air and navy commanders.

also i see some key positions you should try to include are:

-Research and Development minister (directs what and when to research, he also tries to get as much funding as posible from the goverment)

-Production minister (decides what to build based on the needs and requests of the army , navy , and air commanders needs )

-President (coups , DOWs , tech sharing , influence, and gets to decide how funding is allocated based on the R&D and Production ministers requests).

let me know what you think about these ideas.

oh , and count me in :)

ill take whatever position is left vacant right before you start it.

since i still dont know how this will work in not sure what position to apply to.

Yep, good points. I thought about that too and maybe you're right. But still, it could have worked also when every1 has his own small army to command. He can have strategy how to manoeuvre, attack, retreat, reinforce and so on. He might be under supreme command represented by another people, who might have more to say on strategy than tactics. We'll see how does it work and then make changes to make it more accurate and playable.

This is gonna be implemented. So now on we have R&D minister, Production minister, foreign minister and President. I'll elaborate each one's jurisdiction and update first post this way.

As for your position in High Command, check vacant places and make your choice.

OK, i've done some changes in first post, making it clearer which places are free for you as commanders and leaders of USA. Also, I've elaborated a bit their jurisdiction, so you may get better view what is it about. But don't take it as unbreakable boundary, just my perception outlined. I'm always opened to any meaningful comments/suggestions.

And yet, there is one more idea I have on mind but want to confront it with you first before implementing. It might be interesting to have presidential elections. First president could be assigned to first person who ask for this place. But after 4 years (if we get so far, but I believe we will), there will be elections, where anybody who wants can be candidate. Then, people in this thread will vote for their candidate. Candidates can say what'll be their aim and make some sort of presidential campaign. Elected president will replace existing one (if not re-elected). If we go even further, there could be teams, as president you may want your own ministers. So president will candidate with 3 more persons as his future ministers. When he wins, those people are the government with him. Electors may vote according their mood, sympathy or based on actions of candidates in previous governments.

Wow, this is really great idea!
It will be fun, as long as nice portion of roleplaying is involved ;)
