 :(

You really don't have much of a clue, do you? Your response I find to be very disrespectfull. It's time you educated yourself....

http://www.canadianbattleofnormandyfoundation.ca/foundation/canada_in_ww2.htm

http://www.rcnvr.com/Merchant Seaman in WW2.php

http://www.vac-acc.gc.ca/general/sub.cfm?source=history/secondwar/Canada2

The first artical could give light to a number of very valid events for Canada and the greater British empire. The second a listing of Canadian Merchant seamen honored abroad and yet so often forgoten here at home. The third listing will guide you along a more knowledgable path and perhaps teach you somewhat of the sacrifices made by some of the people you claim "didn't do a whole lot in WW2".

I totally disagree with this as Canada's Corvette fleet was one of the only lines of defense in the Atlantic and Canadian troops made signifigant contributions in many important WW2 battles.

Canadians were also personally responsible for liberating the Netherlands and they are honoured there to this very day.

So don't you ever say that we never made a contribution.

EDIT:

One last point I want to make is that Canada went to war against Germany right at the start of WW2. There are countries who can't even say that and I think they deserve more scrutiny.

Wow Canadians are honoured in the Netherlands, the greatest country on earth . That country has as much future as Belgium.

Now let me get some weed and a couple prostitutes!

Seriously though Dieppe could be added in, it was a pitiful event and I still hate Churchill for it til this day (He basically sent Canadians into a meat grinder as a test for D-Day) thats something I would expect out of the Soviet Union, not Britian.

PS. I'm Canadian, Canada made a great contribution in WW1, WW2 was won by the Soviets, though nobody likes to admit it.

dear ukraino-canadian fellow as your flag sugests in 1941 the soviet union for the next 2 years was on the bring of collapse and if it was not for the usa and the british comonwelth with their aids and their teasing in nevragical points of the conflicts perhaps today you wouldn't be in canada but you would have been a slave of lebensraum where ukraine was projected to have its future.l it is true that soviet union did tremendous sacrifices to the war but 25-30 were from inner civil wars , comunist eleminations or starvation and condemnation of desertions. Just to say you we shouild have respect for everyone in ww2 to defeat the nazism even for german soldiers except the ss killers because in the end of all they fought for their country good or bad their leadership. ;)
