playing byzanthum...to 1455 i have NO events triggering at all( except for the "marina" provincial event file and the random events...) playing with the latest beta hosted.

what's going on? maybe i am wrong to EXPECT any to THIS date( no "historical" events to this date) but i used to get the asian minor and KOJ related events right away...+ others to this date. or maybe just trigger dates had been pushed ahead or something?

I'll look into it tonight at home. No idea what might be wrong.

While there are not a lot of events for Byzantium in the first years, it does depend a little on what you do, as many events are situation-specific. But I haven't really done anything on that file of significance in a long time.

As I said, I'll check it out. Thanks.

Tested.

The events fire just fine.

There are no Byzantine events until the first dynastic change in about 1450, then again in 1463.

The interesting ones begin in the 1500s.

Others can happen earlier, but only if you expand into the Levant.

yea, why did you think Byzantine had early events for anything beyond expansion? I know it gets events for taking Turkish provinces to.
 you wrong the turkish events have a "start date" REGARDLESS if the player gets them earlly( i got ALL of them in less then 10 years from start at no economic costs or inflation, inclusing vassaling georgia, taking allepo and cyprus, as well as war and vassal bulgaria + vassal georgia and armenia) albeit i spent the next decades at peace since there is not much more intreasting to do left unless affecting my economy by negative means(until THIS stage of course, there will be more when the time is right...). also warred calipath wich as an AI is indeed VERY easy to beat( just did not need anything from them except getting azerbajian and kurdistan for armenia, hopefully they will convert them to orthodox before i diploannex them...)

franklly the eastwards earlly expansion for byz is detrimental to tech/stability costs, UNLESS those turkis culture events triggers as SOON as the provinces are owned(so at least can start converting if nothing else)...
of couse westward expansion, in present settings , is more beneficial at this earlly stage, but that i already tested some time ago last year.

by the way, in the above game, saxony became HUGE by 1500's generally in detriment to hungary; might need a few more runs to make sure how variable this "constant" is(i had no wars with hungary or her allies).

Saxony doesn't really get much events beyond those that which turn it into a super power, and it's gotten severely nerfed monarchs in the next beta. But, Saxony is a possibly quite strong nation. It occupies a sphere of influence, that no other nations really took.
