I can not access the launcher through Steam.

I have downloaded the game through steam. I am on version 1.12.5 and I believe the checksum is 18aa. A am unable to access the game launcher and would like help fixing this problem. When I go to launch the game and press the play button on Steam I am given three options which you can see in Screenshot 1. The first option usually opens the launcher; the second and third options launch the game directly. Whenever I choose the first option and try to access the launcher the following happens: the game loads for a few seconds before stopping as seen in screenshots 2 and 3. However I am still able to play the game without the launcher but I would like to regain access to the launcher to use mods and change my settings.
