I have been able to play HOI over the network via Windows Terminal Service.

Albeit bandwidth requirements are enourmous even on a 100Mbit network.

Essentially HOI can be played under:
1) Windows Terminal Service
2) VMWare

I think this would be more helpful in the MP forum.

Well, it has much more implications that just for MP.

For some Sysadmin, like myself, we can now install HOI on the Windows Terminal Server, and then fire up our favourite RDP client (there are ones for Windows and Unix including Citrix) and play.

VMWare also means that if Linux is installed, anyone can still play HOI thanks to VMWare support at a minimum DirectDraw.

But having HOI running across the network can impeed network performance for some.

So you're playing HOI at work using RDP to connect to your computer at home ? That's naughty !
:D

My leg of the LAN is on a 10/100 switch along with the department managers, so there is 100Mbits of bandwidth sitting there doing nothing, plus 50GB of drive space doing very little but gaining bad sectors :p so....
