HoI patching problem! Need Help!

First of all .. sorry for my not perfect English...
I have big problems patching the game to 1.05 version.
When i try to install the patch it says that the game is not installed!
I was not sure if it's the US or UK version so i downloaded both the UK and NA patch .. but both give the same result!
I've also reinstalled the game ( and believe me... it's not a cracked or pirated version ... is the original one ) but still same problem!
I had the same problem patching Medal Of Honor some days ago .. it seems my WinXp has some problems upgrading the registry, maybe i should reinstall WinXp but ... you know ... i have an old pc ... and it takes time, time that i don't have right now!

I solved the problem with Medal Of Honor manually editing the registry with regedit and adding the missing informations, all i had to do was add software/EA GAMES/Medal Of Honor Allied Assault ( that's the name of the game ) folder in the registry!

This is what i am trying to do right now for HoI ... i added software/Paradox Entertainment/Hearts of Iron folder in the registry ... but still doesn't work, so i tryed adding the string "path" and put in it the installation path, but still can't patch the game, so i guess i'm still missing some strings ... like "language" or "Region" ...

Browsing with regedit i saw that some games has several strings.. i mean for example:
Path c:\Game path
Language English
Region US

I think that the patch searches for those strings and can't find them ... so it says that the game is not installed, all i need to know is the missing strings name and their value...

Please someone help me... i really need to patch this game since the 1.0 version is really buggy!
You only need to start regedit ( Start => Run => regedit => Enter ), navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Paradox Entertainment folder and tell me the strings of HoI and their values, so i will finally be able to patch this game again!!

Lets find out what version of the game you have first.
What are the names on the CD. Paradox will be one, what are the others?

US version!

It's the US version, i found out it by myself calling my costumer!
Now could you help me with the registry? You would be my hero!

Anyway in case you wanted to check if i own the original cd ... the publisher is strategy first, if this is what you wanted to know. The other name is Infogrames.

You could just export the paradox entertainment folder from your registry and send me the file by email, i think this would be the fastest way to solve my problem. Help me please.

Well mine would do you no good since It is not the same version.

I would suggest unistalling HOI and then do a fresh install and hope the registry gets the correct entries this time.

You may also want to check out the self help sticky thread, the first point is uninstall, and it is a hot link that describes the process including the registry.

I've already done all you said above, but didn't fix the problem!!
You could send me the paradox entertainment folder from your registry even if you have a different version, the registry should be the same just a couple of values should differ and i think i will be able to tweak it to let it work with the us version.

So please please please! I really don't want to reinstall winxp and don't even have time to do it!

All you have to do is open the registry with regedit, click on the paradox entertainmet folder, click export, save it as a file, and send that file to me, it's really quick and easy! My email is fravannetti@libero.it

Please contact the publisher of your version (Strategy First as you mentioned) for details about the registry entry. It is up to them to decided to give it to you as they write the installer for thier version.
