Hi all. I looked on the forum pages to see if I could find anything about this. My game runs fine once it gets going. HOI:DD, HOI:ARMA. I have AVI folder renamed so it doesn't run the videos. But each time I first start the game the screen pops back to the desktop. Then if I open up the screen the game the screen is messed up, probably because it jumped to the desk top during start up. I know that can cause problems. So I exit, and restart the game. Then it loads and runs fine.

Game also runs fine if I exit completely, do something else or what ever, and start the game later. Seems like it needs something to load first, then it will run on subsequent times I start the game. But on the first time in it messes up. I noticed the same thing happens on Victoria/Ricky. Could it be bink play or something trying to run, even though I have the AVI folder renamed?

I found out what was happening. If I change my display properties to 16 bit then the games start up on the first try. The 16 bit is recommended anyway if you have video issues, along with renaming the AVI folder. So no biggie - I can run it either way, 16 or 32 bit; each runs, just that 32bit display causes the game to minimize during start up, meaning video may get messed up a bit, so I have to exit and restart.
