Greets:

A truly insignificant problem since I was able to manually edit the HOI config file, but...

I can't seem to get HOI Settings.exe to run. I run the app and... nada. TaskManager reports a "EU Config" app running, but I see nothing on screen. All I wanted to be able to do was change the resolution settings (but again, I was able to do so manually).

Any idea what this might be?

Thanks for any help.

Are you running 1.03?

Did you overwrite 1.02?

Castellon:

I should have mentioned this in the previous post. :)

In this case, before patching to 1.03, I uninstalled HOI completely (and deleted the folder after running the Uninstall routine) and then re-installed HOI from scratch.

Then I patched it to 1.03 (w/o first running the game, I might add). I then ran the game. Worked like a charm, it reports version 1.03 in the corner. I then notice my resolution is set to 800x600. I exit the game and run the HOI Settings. Doesn't run.

I then rebooted and ran HOI Settings again. Nada.

That's when I did the manual edit.

Thanks for checking this thread out!

Possibly something did not get reset in the Registry when you reinstalled.
Did you install to the exact same dir as originally?

Indeed I did. Not the default installation directory, however. I installed to a different drive and directory, but they were the same as the previous installation.

Again, it's not too much of a bugaboo to deal with since it's a "one-time only" affair. I just like letting people in the forums know that there might be someone else out there with a similar problem.

Other than that, however, no problems at all with HOI 1.03 (actually, I didn't have any problems with previous versions either).

My hunch is that , in this case, I might have to do a registry wipe of anything connected to HOI if I uninstall again. I might give it a try this weekend to test it.
