Hoi2 (Collection), breaks after updating to 1.3b

(SOLVED) Hoi2 (Collection), how to find out which version?

Greetings All,

Hope I am not breaking any rules, I tried to read all the "before posting" information.

My computer information:
Dell T7400 / E5420 8GB RAM
Vista X64

I Installed Hoi2 from "Hearts of Iron II Collection" - dvd.

Right after installation it runs ok.
I install latest official patch 1.3a. Installer says "already 1.03.00 patch level, exiting", but installs anyway, and modifies lot's of files.

I read that there is ai upgrade for it, and I download it from these forums, version 1.3b.

It's RAR and I extract it to hearts of iron 2 directory. Then after I run HOI2 and try to start first tutorial, Game crashes with following information:

ERROR : (ai-prefs : Unexpected field) 'upgrading = 0.35' Line = 10 file = ai\CYN_1936.ai

If I use WINDIFF to compare CYN_1936.AI before and after installing 1.3b, I see that the line in error message (line 10), "upgrading = 0.35" exists on both files.

What am I doing wrong? Should I stick to (working) 1.3a and less-intelligent AI?

Tried different approach, I will install doomsday and armageddon from the disc.
Installed both of them, tried to start the game, OK! Reports armageddon version 1.0

First all inclusive 1.2.
It seems to work. game reports 1.2, tutorial starts and when I cycle through units in winter war scenario(reproduced ctd earlier), everything works. Thank you!!

I took a risk and installed HOI2 Armageddon beta patch 1.3 and tutorial starts and cycling units in winter war scenario works, rock on!
