Hi, i've just began to look through all those files with notepad, and i wanted to make a scenario. Well I was wondering if there was anyway to add more home providence shields on the political map to other providences manualy so that you will get a CB with that nation and promote expansion.

Also i'm in a kinda pickle here... I was thinking about making a scenario where the italian city states are playable. the idea is to add home providence shields to all of italy to promote correct growth. however, hypothetically, if i had all those nations playable, i would need them 'majors' and non annexable, however, if this happends, the whole purpose of uniting italy goes down the drain because then when you control a nation you wont be able to annex them, is there ways around this? would i just have to keep them all annexable, and hope the human player does not get attacked and have his providence over run, and being forcefully annexed, thus crashing to windows?

Many thanks for any help you can give...

Obessed as I am with Machiavelli's dream of a united Italy, I've made scenarios in which ONE city state (and Helvetia) were the only un-annexable (is that a word?) powers...have unified Italy on 2 using Venice, next I'm gonna try with Genoa...

Obsessed? Thats an understandment!:D Heck i base my life on Machiavelli's grand book on how to conquer the world and then some :) :) :)... its the best book ever. There should be some global law enforced by the UN that everyone needs to read The Prince...

I just need a way to make the country you want to play as non-annexable, and all the others annexable when not playing as them.. i guess i could make a seprate scenario for each one of them... that could always work :D

Well anyway, i still have the question, is there a way to add more 'home providences' through editing the texts so I can make CB shields and promote the correct growth of the Italian states?

Hey Mariani, could you maybe send that scenario to me (Maple_Board@hotmail.com)? It sounds pretty good.

Thanks a bunch

PS: remember, 'He who builds on the people, builds on mud'

Yes, the .inc file has for each country a list of 'national provinces' with the number of each province that is a 'core'/'CB'/'national' province. So you can just add more provinces to these lists and those nations will have a CB over those provinces and not have to deal with the 'nationalism' revolt risk.

A tip just for the fun :

I tested an new setting (based on IGC 1.08) with CB shield's only on the 'starting' province's (4 on Portugal, Europe and Tangier's)to see how the AI could handle that.

I was really supressed how good many of the countries AI preformed ( the England AI worked perfect) and In many cases It worked better and it did with CB's as fare I could see.

I thought that it should be an 'static' (EU WW1 version) game with this setting's but no way, after a while when many countries start's to have CB on each other (the start setting's with alliance's and CB's are enough) it's open up the gameplay and u have to plan the war's and alliances more carefully so u don't need to start a war and get -2 point's in stability.

What I have seen :
Casus Belli is much more important then before (very hard to start a war without to lose -2 in stability).
Very important to 'manupilate' the AI countries to give them CB on each other, to week them up or start war against eachother and take part of it as an allie.

I have much more to say about this, but more testing's need's before I'm sure about evrything but this was an very fun scenario to play and the 'outcome' was not unrealistic.

I realy hope this can work together with good random event's setting's, then we will have a lot of very great gaming in front of us.

If anyone are intressed in more details about this, just Email me.

I dont really understand.. you put the 4 home providence shields on Tangiers, and the 3 providences on the Iberian Penninsula? And why did the English AI work good? Who did you play as? Could you clarify what you did a little more because it sounds interesting..
