I purchased the largest bundle available with intents to play this game with my girlfriend using two PS2 like controllers. The problem is that it would seem controller/joypad input options leave an unsettling, poor quality experience.

The only viable built in option of selecting spells by using the analog stick is time consuming and inaccurate. I tried to find some solutions but was unable to; perhaps I missed something and another could point me in the right direction. While searching I've been seeing this complaint from threads in 2011, so that kind of scares me. If this is unresolvable I would hope to obtain a refund, as this game was advertised as gamepad friendly.

Ideas:
Allow a power button to shift to a default element type. Eg: While holding L1 always default to Earth when pressing Analog down, or Water when Analog left. This would grant a slight efficiency increase.

Allow there to be macro buttons which auto cast or auto queue certain spells. This could be limited to only a couple spells; there would be only a few extra buttons available on the gamepad anyway. This would be decently helpful.

(outside the box)
Using software which lets you create your own macros as decribed above. I could not find anything that was clearly written.

Allow more than one player to use the keyboard and enable movement per key options(eg: wsad). This would be highly effective as most game controllers allow you to set analog angles to certain keys and or actions. Players could still calibrate an analog stick to movement and bind other buttons on controllers to set key pressed. This would require roughly 92 binded keys for up to four players using this method. There are more than enough keys on a standard keyboard to pull this off, and if you were to include special characters such as # $ % you would be fine.

PS: There should automatically be an arrow on your character at the very least pointing which way you are facing to enable better casting precision; especially since you have this with the mouse more or less.

I guess that's all I have for suggestions. If anyone knows of a good way to setup macros please let me know.
