How can I properly use dragons?

I haven't played the GoT mod in a long while, so today I tried to conquer Westeros as Aegon and make my kingdom. The problem is that I can't seem to use dragons correctly. In prior versions, I could go into battle against 20,000 with 2,000 and still win because of the dragons. Now though, I lose battles against the Iron Islands and the Storm King, in the very beginning of my conquest. Then, if I beat them, the Reach usually finishes me off with their huge amounts of troops. I'm guessing dragons got nerfed in some way, so I'm asking how I can recreate Aegon's conquest with so few men and weaker dragons?

I notice that when I pause the game and then use the dragons they do nothing. Instead I fight my wars at low speed and click the event asap so that it works properly.
Beware enemy reinforcements after you use your dragons, new enemies are not affected by the event.
Make sure that your flanks are lead by dragon riders because they give awesome command bonuses, as long as the fight doesn't last too long.

Make sure you have all 3 flanks. If you don't and the enemy does you get penalties that the dragons don't always outweigh.

Yeah, same issue here. I've checked stats of the previous version and dragon stats seem to be pretty much same. I think it's a bug.

the problem is that the game doesn't allow you to change your flank commanders as Aegon in the start cause he hasn't high enough crown authority

You don't need to change the commanders. Just move some troops into the other 2 flanks. It's better to have 100,9800,100 than 0,10000,0 . The second will give you penalties.
