I want to play EU on a laptop that has an external CD drive, but I don't want to have to lug it around with me and have to plug it in every time I want to play...

I copied the contents of the cd to my HD and installed it just fine, but when I run the executable, the game complains that it can't find the CD drive. Is there a setting I can flip so it doesn't look for the CD? The game doesn't care if the cd is there during gameplay, just at the beginning - what's it looking for?

TIA

Tom

That's because people don't like you to install the game and then return the CD to the shop for a refund.

It is trying to make sure that you have a legal copy of EU. It is part of the copy protection.
