Hmm, i know, that i can buy or send some gifts to get a better relationship!

I was playing the Russian Empire and i conquert a lot in the first 20 years, but why do i have a realtionsship of -200 with nearly every country ( except of these which are allied with me), even if i never fought against them nor had any direct contact????

And how could i get a better realtionsship without paying them my hole treasure???

Thx Jaime

well, because you are russia and you needed to expand, you incurred 'badboy' points. That's bad. The more you have, the less people like you.

Basically, when you annex other territories through force, you get a certain number of badboy points. these diminish after time, but for Russia (I'm assuming you took Kazan, Astrakhan, Sibir, Golden Horde, Uzbek), you end up with quite a few at the begining. Your best bet is to lay low for a while and take the time to build up your economy.

Spend your diplomat (one a year) and you money wisely on improving relations with countries that are orthodox for they will be more receptive to your advances and it will take you less money (e.g. Georgia).

Have fun.

Aside from the badboy points gained, military annexation directly lowers your relationship with other countries as they are wary of a rampant expanionist (since you could come after them next). Apart from gifts, you'll have to arrange marriages and alliances to improve relations (and countries with -200 probably won't accept these).

Also, for future reference, questions of this type should be placed in the FAQ forum. This forum is intended for scenario design discussions.
